Language barriers contribute to nearly 25 percent of all workplace-related accidents. Safety leaders have the duty to communicate effectively and specifically to the communities they serve. This webinar will provide resources to build workforce trust, tools to bridge the communication gap, and enhance understanding of the importance of effective communication.

Christine  Robinson
Christine Robinson

Full-Time Faculty, Columbia Southern University

Dr. Christine Robinson is a practicing industrial hygienist, environmental scientist, and researcher. She has been conducting post-remediation verification assessments and clearance testing for mold remediation and water damage restoration projects in Southern California for 16 years. She completed a Bachelor of Science in environmental management from Columbia Southern University followed by a Master of Science in occupational safety and health with an emphasis in environmental management. She has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in health sciences as a global health
practitioner/researcher from Trident University. In addition to graduate and post graduate work, she has completed more than 300 classroom hours in additional environmental coursework. She is a California Department of Public Health, Certified Lead Inspector Assessor and an AHERA Certified Contractor/Supervisor, Building Inspector, Management Planning, and Project Designer. She is the owner of AQTS Inc., an environmental consulting company founded in 2008. 


Susan Cathcart
Susan Cathcart

Professor, Columbia Southern University

Dr. Susan Cathcart is a professor and teaches online classes in bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and doctoral programs. Cathcart graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in social work, from Walsh College with a master’s degree in management, and Capella University with a Ph.D. in organizational management with a concentration in human resource management. Prior to starting her journey in higher education, she was the administrator of a psychiatric clinic for seventeen years.
Teaching is Dr. Cathcart’s passion. She began her higher education career as an adjunct faculty and has had the opportunity to serve in different leadership positions including vice president of academics, dean, director, and instructional effectiveness specialist.
